As the name suggests Paperock PLY is comprised of a high quality exterior grade Birch plywood sandwiched between two 2mm thick layers of Paperock SOLID (which is paper from renewable sources bonded with phenolic resin).
The Plywood is FSC certified

No, Paperock PLY is a composite material made of Phenolic resin and paper bonded to a premium birch plywood.
There is no silica in any of of Paperock’s products.

The paper is FSC certified from renewal sources and responsible forestry practices.

Paperock once compressed and cured does not omit any dangerous VOC’s.

We recommend Paperock SOLID and Paperock PLY be finished with Osmo oil.

Yes, a very minute amount. It is comparable to a natural timber bench.

Due to the ply core, we don’t recommend Paperock PLY for an outdoor environment.
Paperock SOLID is more suited to outdoors.

Due to the ply core, we don’t recommend Paperock PLY for extremely wet areas such as undermount sinks.
However, the surface is impervious to water so is suitable for benchtops in kitchens and laundries.
Paperock SOLID is more suited to areas where water will continually get on the edge.

Because Paperock PLY has the ply core it is lighter, easier to cut for complex joinery and has a lower price point.
Our customers often use it for kitchen drawers & doors, bench tops, shelving and furniture.
Fabrication

Yes, it can, using an orbital sander with dust extraction.

Paperock can be cut with a panel saw, CNC and track saw with a quality blade.

The edges can be sanded to remove saw marks and then oiled with Osmo oil.

No, Paperock Ply uses a premium quality decorative ply that is produced to be visible.

Paperock PLY comes in our standard sheet: 2400 x 1200mm.
Thickness: 28mm and 19mm.
